The only other thing I wanted to tell you is that there
were some hardware items missing, but my husband had the equivalents in
his workshop, so it didn't matter to us. Just an FYI for the pre-shipping
check on what goes into those little baggies!!!

Hi Chari,
First one safely back in the UK, second one coming this week.
Bit of a struggle, wouldn't fit in the rental car, or my car - had to dissasemble the box.
Of course, the screwdriver was in the box I left in Florida so I had to go to the hardware store and get one!
How often do you re - treat the chairs as they will probably be staying outside in all weathers?
I will probably get some Olympic from Llowes next Thursday.

Dear Chari,
Baldwins is just the BEST! I have to tell you that I looked
and looked - at local stores and online for a nice sturdy picnic set.
The most readily available lawn furniture around here are glass table
patio sets. My husband and I did find an unfinished unassembled boxed
picnic table at a local store for $84 before tax. When we went to the
customer service desk to inquire about delivery and assembly we waited
5 minutes for someone to come talk with us and then this person was pulled
away by a cashier with a question. We stood there for another 8 minutes
or so until we finally gave up and walked out. I am so glad we did that!
That night I went online and found your website.
As soon as I saw your website I knew I had found the best
possible place to make my purchase. I chose what I wanted and with a few
clicks placed the order. When I told my husband and my mother they were
each skeptical because I had ordered indoor furniture this way over the
winter from various companies with less than great results. Let's just
say we have two pieces still in the boxes waiting for a rocket scientist
to put together…
You called the next day to let me know that you had received the order
and that there would be a per mile delivery charge since this item could
not be shipped. You didn't charge my credit card until you made sure this
would be alright and you were very pleasant to speak with. You mentioned
the possibility of a Saturday delivery which I told you would be great
if it worked out that way since we had a Sunday cookout planned.
Friday night my husband and I arrived home from work. While
still in the car I was complaining of a headache and telling him all I
wanted was to go inside and take a little nap before dinner. He said he
wanted the same as his day had been tough at work. We got out of the car
and walked around the back of the house to our backdoor and what greeted
us but a BEAUTIFUL, fully assembled and finished picnic table with the
big green umbrella! It's too bad there wasn't a camera to catch the surprised
and thrilled looks on our faces! There were lots of whoa's and oh-my-God's
and wow's. We were both smiling ear to ear and never did need to take
that nap. My husband was extremely impressed and my mother who is due
to visit tomorrow will be as well.
When we got inside and checked messages there was a lovely message from
you about delivering early because of the bad weather due on Saturday.
Now I have a "wish list" of Baldwin's furniture
pieces and can't imagine having a better furniture buying experience anywhere
else.

I would like to thank all the staff at Baldwin Furniture
for their quality and dedication to their products. I ordered two Classic
Lawn Chairs, received them as promised and they look and feel GREAT!!!!!!
When I told my wife I had purchased two new chairs for the
front porch we just built, her remarks were, “Here we go again”.
The chairs arrived as my 13 year old son got home from school at 3:30.
My son had both chairs assembled and on the front porch before my wife
got home from work at 4:10. Assembly is as you say “A piece of cake”.
I have worked for family owned businesses three different times in my
life and there is nothing like the pride and satisfaction that goes into
each and everything you do when working for a family business. The Baldwin’s
seem to be no exception to this rule.
By the way, when my wife saw the chairs, (and hers was the
Classic Rocking Lawn Chair) she said “WOW!!!”. When I asked
her what she thought of the chairs, again she said “WOW!!!!!. I
think that speaks for itself.

My son and I came down Sat and bought a Baldwin rocker.
Alex was there and was a great help. Andrew was impressed with your six
foot chair! I brought the rocker home and had to fight to get a turn in
it. The trouble came when my wife looked out and said “only one?”

I have received my chairs and my family has been relaxing in them over
the weekend. You're right; they are the most comfortable Adirondack I
have found. The quality is apparent from the curved back to the cross
supports and I am looking forward to many years of enjoyment. They went
together very easy and, as an added bonus, my 4-year-old daughter saw
me putting them together and now she thinks I made them.

Got our furniture today! Nice stuff !!! Very little assembly
time, great packaging and what comfort. I'm a stout man and I have never
sat in any wooden (patio/lawn) furniture that didn't creek when I sat
in it or got up out of it. Yours DOESN'T creek! It's firm, sturdy, comfortable,
attractive and most of all affordable. I hope that it will last a long,
long time.

We bought our furniture from you in 2001. We purchased a
Settee, 4 Adirondacks, 4 Ottomen, 2 Adirondack Rockers, a Side Table,
an Octagon Table and Market Umbrella. They are beautiful and sturdy. They
have endured cold Northwestern Connecticut winters and snow. We put the
chairs
on our front porch and during our family parties people are racing to
the chairs to relax in. Thanks for making a product that is well worth
the money spent and for standing by your craftsmanship.
