Baldwin Chair

The first Adirondack chair was built in upstate New York in the Adirondack Mountains over a two hundred years ago. Its design made perfect sense... Since there is no level ground in the Adirondack Mountains and people like to sit facing the best view ( down hill ) someone built a special chair that leaned way back. When used on a steep hill this chair would sit upright like any other chair on level ground.

Vacationers from New England fell in love with this "Adirondack Chair" and brought it home as a souvenir of their travels. California caught on and now these wonderful chairs are in big demand worldwide!

Max Baldwin has dedicated his life to perfecting this time honored chair. We believe it is the symbol of free America and owning an Adirondack chair is a big part of realizing the American Dream.
