Here you can see Chari has just opened the Deck Box. Once the lid is lifted about four inches it will glide open the rest of the way on it's own. The lid is held open by the two hydraulic pistons. It cannot and willnot shut unless it is pushed down. The pistons also keep it from slamming shut so it is safe for children's fingers.
