A Baldwin Bat House should be
mounted facing South, East or Southeast. It must be hung a
minimum of twelve feet off the ground.
Here Rick Johnson is mounting a Bat House about sixteen feet
up a telephone pole. Bats don't like to live on a pole with
a light on it. I'm not sure why, but it's been determined
by the folks at Bat Conservation International in Austin Texas.
There is no light on this pole.
Every mounting situation is a bit different. We don't include
any mounting brackets because each tree, pole or house involves
different challenges and we don't want to held responsible
for accidents or damaged Bat Houses.
