1. Place the arbor where you would like it.
2. Mark the soil about 6 inches all around each leg leaving four 12 inch circular marks. I use the pointed shovel to mark the ground.
3. Move the arbor aside and dig the four holes at least a foot deep.
4. Place the Arbor into the holes. How does it look? It is sure to be crooked.
5. Either add or remove soil from the holes until the arbor crown is level and the legs are plumb (straight up and down).
6. Place any rocks tightly against the legs. Pack the soil in compacting it every few inches with your foot or a small tamper.
